Lettings in Spa towns

Postby suzanna » Sat Jun 26, 2010 9:21 pm

Hi, I have been sifting through old posts and some of the larger websites looking for a category specifically aimed at Spas (Sandanski in particular but there are so many others too) for advertising my apartment.

I would have thought it was a fairly lucrative niche market but either no one has stepped into it yet, or I am looking in the wrong places. I've found a couple of companies advertising 'village houses' for rent as well as the obvious sea/mountain etc, but no 'spa' category.

If anyone has ideas or experience, I would be grateful.

Many thanks Suzanna

Owners `Direct have a means of searching Special Interest holidays within a country of your choice, which could in theory include spas, but how many people search on that small reference at the bottom RH corner of their home page is anybody's guess.

Spa holidays are more popular in Germany than here in the UK but don't know of any specific websites offhand.

A good resource site for UK renters is http://www.laymyhat.com/ you might get some idea from there. You will certainly find out who not to put your ads with

Googling "spa treatments bulgaria" the top hit is for http://www.visitbulgaria.net/en/vacations/
Here are listed lots of holiday accommodation offerings in spa places.
Strangely there is no obvious "Contact Us" or "Advertise with Us" tab! But there is a Bulgarian phone number.
Hope this is of interest. :D

I think all of their accommodation is in hotels. Most people in Bulgaria go to a spa as a package holiday with inclusive deals for treatment.

Bulgarians go to Sandanski for a variety of reasons,it's quite a popular base for Melnik,Petrich and of course Sandanski. Also a lot of Bulgarians are now travelling across the border to go shopping in Serres and Promahonas, using Sandanski as a base.

It's very popular with Bulgarians, especially from Sofia, and Greeks to rent an apartment for the weekend rather than to stay in a Hotel. The following site is widely used by Bulgarians so is worth a look.

Pochivka/BGstay
in Bulgarian ; "Pochivka.bg" :http://pochivka.bg
or in English ; "Bgstay.com" :http://bgstay.com/

Most of this site is aimed at Bulgarians so is mostly in Bulgarian language.
If you do a search for apartments in Spa Resorts, you'll see that Sandanski has by far the most selection (77 Apartments).
