Importing a car

Postby siddy » Wed Nov 07, 2007 3:06 pm

I think this might help some people with the confusion they might on this issue.
Today we imported our 2nd car into BG. Unlike the first time when we nearly lost the will to live this was quite simple [ on the BG scale]
All done in Dobritch, 70lv. And this included 30lv for Mot.

Hi, Peckets.
In reply to your request.
Do you have a currant id card. Assuming you do you will have to get another No. from the immigration office. This is because the registration office computer does not recognise the No. on our id card and this allows them to get into the computer in Sofia and check everything. Not a problem, very simple 2lv.
When you have this, back to registration.
English passport
..... Logbook
..... Insurance
I don't think they checked the MOT but i took it anyway.
They checked engine No. and chassis No.
Took old plates off put new ones on

Hi Siddy, would i be right to assume they issue you with a new BG style log book. What happens with the old one, do they send it off to DVLA or do you do that? thanks

Hi Siddy,

Thanks for the info. i was there about 4 hours ago and had the same problem with my residents card.

i was told to wait 10 days until they updated the computer software but 10 days in Bulgaria could be a very long time.

Hi Jerico. Don't know why you had to wait 10 days, we did it all in one.

Hi,

Tear of the purple permanent export section and let KAT have the rest. You can then inform the DVLA with the purple strip by post.

KAT made a photocopy of our original log-books and gave them to us for reference.

You then have a two-piece BG registration document; credit card sized Part 2 to keep in car/wallet and the larger Part 1 in the house etc.

Cheers
