Bulgaria has a quite sophisticated and reliable coach network allowing you to undertake inland travel between most major towns and cities. The better operators (and there are quite a few) operate luxury fleets of modern, well maintained vehicles with a hostess service and other facilities such as TV/Video being provided on the longer routes.
The cost of coach travel is substantially cheaper than you may think with a return trip from Sofia to the coast costing in the order of 30 Leva. This particular journey would normally take between 5 or 6 hours depending on traffic and weather conditions.
In Sofia the main operators have offices based close to the central Bus station from where they operate which is next to the Princess Hotel.
We have selected two links below to two of the better known operators where you will find further detailed information on schedules and prices.
