I have tried to search here unsuccessfully. Can anyone tell me about purchasing breakdown cover in Bulgaria please for travelling across Europe to the UK? We must make the trip next month and will be staying in the UK for about 4-6 weeks. We've just got third party insurance with the greencard. Any other relelvant information would be much appreciated. We're going from Varna probably through Romania, Hungary, etc. and any other specific info would be great. I did spend some long hours searching recently on here about routes, but any up to date info would be useful. Not looking forward to traveling in winter weather altho' we do have a jeep. Bringing back 3 cats, not looking forward to that either! Rolling Eyes

if you are going via eurotunnel you can get there european breakdown cover book it online at there website we used it last trip and was the cheapest we found hope this helps Jean

Thanks Jean. I checked their site and it seems you must start your journey in the UK to take out the insurance... Crying or Very sad

Try these for starters, I don't know whether you have to start your journey in the UK or not, but if you take annual cover does it matter where you start from?

So how do they tell if you started in Bulgaria or UK unless you tell them.
I got 12 months cover from the 4th emergency service, as they say on the ads, for £99.(on the internet)
If they had asked on our way back to England with the car where I had started I would have said UK. Left the ferry ticket in Bulgaria.
