Not looking good for the future at all and this will be replicated many times across the country. But things are bad...comparitively....across the whole of Europe. Ireland once more finds her young people.....and some not so young...heading abroad for work. Had a conversation the other night with our neighbour who was bemoaning the fact of life in Bulgaria. He has'nt been out of the country since leaving the Army in the 80's. But I tried to explain that the streets of everywhere else are'nt paved with gold and times are hard every where. As an example I asked how much he paid the munincipality each year in taxes for his house...the danak scrady...."21 leva" he says.....way less than a days wage for him. I told him our daughter paid £2500 per year in rates in Ireland....and recieves similar service to that given for the danak scrady. I told him of the prices of food, electricity, gas , transport, education but I know if he were a younger man he would be out of here.
Indeed times are hard everywhere for those with the least. But good to know big business , and the financial centres are doing well.
