YOU DO need your residentcy card if you take your car to Yambol...but you DONOT need your lights changing, they are not interested, no need to pay anyone.
this is not an idoit's guide, just my experience at yambol, have done it 3 times no trouble ...

Like i said Sealman ....every area has different rules/regs ......nothing on here ever comes out the same when talking to folks from different areas......here in Burgas i have several clients whom have BG reg cars but dont have the residencty card ....strange how different areas work aint it !!

The best thing for the OP ....is just to do it themselves & ignore everything they are told &...do some research in there area....as for giving the car ownership over to a friend...now i would be very carefull.

If people think registering a car is compulicated try a trike, when l took mine to Yambol, they just took the number of the frame and that was it... park it over there and start paying taxes, and collect ur number plate at the end..scary but true!!!
Good luck....

Here's an LHD light for the off side of the vehicle.

http://cn.oemol.com/oem/en_oem_detail/16600/RD/_HeadLights(Headlamp).html

Part number for the near side is MR162653

Drop the man in China an Email!

If you're a perfectionist you might like to ask whether they have E Numbers on them.

The idiot is me, I'm afraid! It seems the rules do vary from one part of the country to another and my house is in one of the stricter localities - Sopot in Central Bulgaria. If I can get the lights cheaply from the USA that's what I will do and then it will comply with the legal requirements wherever I am in BG.

Can't believe how helpful folk are on this forum so once again, thanks to you all!
