I am hoping to relocate very soon to BG and my husband is thinking of bringing his David Brown 1390 tractor. I would be interested to know if anyone else has seen David Brown tractors in BG.

Iv lived just north of Vratsa for 7 years. It an agriculteral area but havent seen any Davis Brown Tractors. Besides the old Russian ones there mostly Claas, Case or John Deere. But if he brings it (depending on the area your in) I would thin he will find work for it plus used tractors can fetch a better price here than in Europe

There is a whole mish mash of tractors here in Bulgaria, from your Japanese Mini Tractors right though to a host of Russian and Belorussian older ones with many new shiny foreign tractors appearing possibly due to EU funding.
You obviously need to work out how much it is going to cost you to get it here, what you intend to use it for and most importantly how easy it is to get spares when you need them. As long as you can get access to spares in the UK then, you only have the transportation costs to worry about.
This link (Bulgarian language) will show you the types of second-hand tractors being sold at the moment and their prices: -
Actually, I seem to recall that I started a thread about tractors here somewhere, try searching on Tractors and see what it throws up as I cannot remember now what information is in there.

Hi all - thanks for your replies and information. Bringing a David Brown over would be something different from a John Deere, Massey Ferguson, Case and the unusual Russian tractors you seem to see. The spares could be a problem but can access them in the UK. Have not worked out the transport cost from UK to BG yet. Could be quite expensive. The tractor would only be used for light duties anyway as a runabout.
