hi,
has anyone managed to watch bbc prime yet? i have been viewing it for free on hotbird but also lost the channel about 2 weeks ago. have no idea why this has happended?
You need to give more details before I could comment on why you lost the channel.
On hotbird BBC Prime is broadcast by both Sky Italy and TPS (french)
and on Eutelsat 16e which is the same same satellite as ITV Partner but Broadcast by Total TV

If so how did you do it? Yes I know I can buy the card from UK but i just wanted to know if bulsat people would know how to open this channel.
pls let me know.
thanks

Hi Mariela - BBC Prime has moved to Eurobird 9 and is about the only channel worth watching and in English. You apparently need an LNB to receive other previous channels. You will need to contact them on the website to get a new card. As far as I know, to date Bulsatcom does not have access to BBC Prime but its worthwhile asking. To be honest, we have had BBC Prime for so long that everything we watched had been repeated several times previously and often on the same day. Okay if you can channel hop, but for the same money you have masses of channels on Bulsatcom and we have added their extra package to receive the lost channels on BBC Prime's old satellite and given up paying for BBC..
If you were paying a subscription, BBC Prime should have sent you a new card and info automatically, but its not unknown for channels to be pirated out here.
ok, maybe some one can help. I have done extensive research on Turkey and am also considering a move to Bulgaria. Can some one help me out. I do not want mega tv channels but is there a way of getting BBC news, I think BBC prime has news on it and Eurosport in Bulgaria - I know in Turkey I would need a 3metre dish. what would be needed there and how much would a subscription for something like that be - hope some one can help. thanks

BBC news is free to view on Astra 28.2 and dish size in Bulgaria 1.05M the smallest.
Eurosport is carried by both ITV Partner 16e and Bulsatcom 39e both Sat providers in Bulgaria.

I would say forget BBC Prime. For one channel you will pay as much as for a whole Bulsatcom package.
BBC Prime Smartcard is about 100 pounds a year. Bulsatcom is about 25 BGL a month.
Of course you will receive offers to hook you upo to BBC prime illegally. My advice is to ignore these offers.
