Information for those of you who have bought or are thinking of buying in this area. The Mayor of General Toshevo held a meting recently with non-bulgarians living within its municipality to see how they could help in making our lives a little easier.
A number of good idea were presented to the Mayor who agreed to the following at the first meeting.
1. The setting up of a small foreign committee who will meet monthly with the Mayor.
2. To provide a meeting room for the committee to meet in, and other people to meet with the committee,
3. To assist with the publication of a news letter for foreign homebuyers in the municipality
4. Provide a teacher and a room for bulgarian language classes to begin in July.
Obviously in return we will be looking at what we (non-bulgarians) can do for the municipality in return.

Good News

Inform him that those of us who had the Joy (???) of trying to get a Lichna Karta from the helpful (???) people in Dobrich (General Toshevo is in this municipality) will welcome this good news Laughing

General Toshevo is in it's own municipality, but in Dobrich District. See http://www.guide-bulgaria.com/NE/Dobrich Wink

is , If I wanted to a get Lichna Carta would I be able to get it here (General Toshevo) if my house is in the GT area?
If you still have to go to Dobrich then maybe there is a problem.
However a friend reports that going through the red tape , re getting a Lichna Carta from Dobrich , has improved due to the EU membership situation.
Some of the staff at immigration are rumoured to be helping UK people and smiling occasionally Wink

Maybe some "high up" at some time will be the first to embrace "People Skills" and send staff on courses for this elementary skill like we do in the UK Question

Now all they may need to think about, is to put up more information posters in English like the equivalent office in Varna Question

Sorry Hoowster You still have to apply at the Dobrich office. I did ask in Toshevo if we could apply there, but no go as Dobrich has the computor files and humble Toshevo does not have access to these!

As for suggesting that immigration staff get skills training, I might just wait until I renew my lichna carta in August, then raise the topic Twisted Evil

I will stick to Varna for my Lichna Carta (living here in Varna makes that easier Laughing

) until I hear that the Dobrich staff improve their people skills?
The odd English course might also be an Idea as they are dealing with a lot more of them now I am sure?
