hi all, a quick question I'm hoping you can help with.....
I'm thinking of renewing a very old woodburning stove in my place in a village 25k NW of Veliko Turnavo, can anyone say how much a new stove may be to buy? Just a small one.... Prices from local village shops and general town stores in this area both welcome
Thanks everyone

The cheapest ones are the "Tsiganski Lyubov" style - like the ones you see in the old Western movies. Effective but will only last for a few years.
"Gipsy Love" because they are quick to heat up - and quick to get cold ! |

As you are in the Veliko Turnovo region, I would suggest a visit to the Priti
factory at Lyaskovets, near to Gorna Oryahovitsa. They have all the Priti petchkas on display, and you can get a brochure too which gives all the sizes, heat output etc. We bought one in November. Think it was just under 400 lev, but it is a large one with an oven. |

I think there is a difference between a 'petchka' and 'Kamina' - a petchka is a cooker with oven and a kamina is just a fire. Could someone confirm this ?

A good place to look in VT is Bursa - it's a builders merchant. You go up Bulgaria Blvd towards Metro as you reach the large central island turn right up the hill - past KAT - and Bursa is about 500m on the left - big blue building.
Yes there is a difference the Kamina runs radiators - easy way to check - if there are pipes coming out the back it's for radiators, so you want a Petchka which is all smooth i.e no connections for rads. |
