I am in the process of purchasing a house nr Pleven and am looking for general builders (plastering, decorating converting bedroom into bathroom/wc, possible convert loft into bedroom with dorma window, internal tiling and fitting of kitchen)

I would need breakdown of costs as will be working through the house one room at a time. Has anyone got a builder they can reccomend?

Hi Jacqui

I have purchased an house there myself, I fly out 5th of March to meet with builders etc, I intend to stay there for awhile and use local builders and labour for 80% of the work, After that I`ll arrange through agent for heating system and othet technical works.

I`ll keep you informed and when I find the right people I`ll let you know, also as I intend to spend quite a lot of time there, maybe flying out monthly or staying a month at a time I`ll be able to keep an eye on things, If all goes well and I find the right people as I say would be happy to pass on details and keep an eye on your house while I`m there,

Hi Jaqui

I have also bought a house near Pleven and my original intention was to renovate. I have since decided that it will be more cost effective in the long term to demolish and rebuild (what have I let myself in for!!)

I have managed to find myself a local chap who is willing to project manage the whole operation. He is quite new to all this, but my experiences of him so far are all good. He has worked in the building industry previously and is currently working in a job he hates. He has many contacts and knows his stuff, and is looking to go into full time property management for investors.
