The church of the Kapinovo Monastery, near the town of Elena, features an inscription of the year of its foundation on the cornice above the altar: 1272, under Constantine the Quiet's rule. Following repeated destructions and restorations of the monastery, the church was re built in 1835 by two self-taught masters from Dryanovo
